This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:
Hi there! I’m a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my website. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.)
…or something like this:
The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickeys to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community.
BIO: Shanda Plock graduated from Scripps College in 1991 with a degree in Art History and
received her Masters in Art History and Museum Studies from the University of Denver in 2000.
A[er Scripps and while studying at DU, Shanda worked at several museums including the
Children’s Museum of Denver, The Denver Art Museum, The Museum of Outdoor Arts, and the
Denver Botanic Gardens. Later, she began teaching Art History and Art AppreciaCon at
Community College of Denver and Red Rocks Community College and parCcipated on the Board
of DUArt! While teaching at the Community College of Aurora, she worked on curriculum, won
an Adjunct Teacher of the Year award, and was the Director of the Donna Moravec Gallery.
Shanda has also worked with 40West Arts District as an educaConal contributor, guest juror, and
curator. She returned to teaching at Front Range Community College in 2020 and is the
ExecuCve Director and archivist for The Hanzon FoundaCon.
Lon Seymour
BIO: Lon Seymour is a long Cme art educator and arCst with years of experience. He began as a
Fine Art high school teacher in Jefferson County, Colorado and later became the District
Coordinator of Art in that same county. He also worked in the non-profit sector as the ExecuCve
Director for the Arts EducaCon Equity Network, a Program funded by the NaConal Endowment
for the Arts and the The Colorado Council. Lon worked in higher educaCon as the Coordinator of
Art EducaCon at Metropolitan State College of Denver and as Vice President for Academic
Affairs at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. He later became the Chairman of the Art
EducaCon Department at Rocky Mountain where he assisted in the accreditaCon process as well
as teaching classes in FoundaCons. Lon has also been an instructor at Community College of
Denver and Regis University.
His many awards include 1995 Colorado Art Educator of the Year, 1992 Marion Quinn Dix
Leadership award from the NaConal Art EducaCon AssociaCon, and 1988 Arts Administrator of
the Year in Colorado. A long Cme member of CAEA – Colorado Arts EducaCon AssociaCon, his
roles have included Treasurer, President, and Vice President. Lon has also served on the Board
of the Colorado Alliance for Arts EducaCon and as the Chairman for Colorado AssociaCon of
Visual Art Administrators. He has authored a variety of art educaCon materials and arCcles as
well as a few works of ficCon which tell tall tales about the City of Denver, the Beatles,
Wyando_e Indians, and wild art teachers.
Leslie Mitchell
BIO: Leslie Mitchell reCred June 2010 a[er 26 years with FirstBank Holding Company. At the
Cme of her reCrement, she was the president of FirstBank of Cherry Creek. During her tenure
with FirstBank, she was Credit Policy Commi_ee Chair, as well as Chair of the Loan Commi_ee.
Along with the Denver’s Audit Commi_ee, Leslie currently serves on the board of AAA Colorado,as well as on the State of Colorado Board of Mortgage Loan Originators. Past community
service includes serving on the boards of the Cherry Creek North Business Improvement
District, Denver Public Schools FoundaCon, Public EducaCon and Business CoaliCon, the state
Board of Real Estate Appraisers, and Saint Joseph’s Hospital FoundaCon. She also volunteers
with Innovage.
As a passionate runner, Leslie also coaches with Girls on the Run, an a[er school running
program at Schmi_ Elementary. She has completed 8 marathons, including the Boston
Marathon, and is on the board of the Rocky Mountain Road Runners.
Leslie graduated from the University of Colorado – Boulder with a B.S, Business AdministraCon
and from the University of Colorado – Denver with a Masters of Business AdministraCon.
She has been named a Girl Scout Women of DisCncCon, as well as a twice nominated for
Colorado Outstanding Women in Business. She has held posiCons on a variety of Boards
including: AAA of Colorado, Independent Audit Commi_ee for the City of Denver, and the Emily
Griffith FoundaCon Board.
She and her husband, Rob Insinger, live in Washington Park and are intrepid travelers. She has
two adult sons, Mitch and Peter Goudy.
Kristy Rowe
BIO: Kristy Rowe is a mulCfaceted professional with a background in markeCng, photography
and immersive arts. She is the owner of Moodeous Photography, which she founded in 2007
with the vision of capturing the love, joy, and community that supports a couple on their
wedding day. She brings with her a lifelong passion for immersive arts and theater, and for the
magic that is created when the divide is bridged between the audience and the stage. She
currently works closely with Lonnie Hanzon (Hanzon Studios) developing creaCve projects, most
notably ‘Camp Christmas.’ Her leadership experience includes serving as the past president of
Rocky Mountain Roller Derby as well as the current President of Control Group ProducCons.
When she is not skaCng or volunteering Kristy loves to travel having visited 45 countries (and
counCng!) across the globe.
